Double flange level transmitter effectively solves the problem of liquid level monitoring in hydrochloric acid storage tank

Recently, a large domestic chemical enterprise successfully solved the long-term problem of measuring the level of hydrochloric acid storage tank which has affected its production by using the double flange level transmitter of Yigeqi, providing a new idea for the monitoring of the level of highly corrosive media in the chemical industry.

In chemical production, maintaining accurate level measurement in 31% concentration industrial hydrochloric acid storage tanks remains a persistent challenge. The highly corrosive and volatile nature of hydrochloric acid severely limits the service life of conventional level gauges. Moreover, crystallization from hydrochloric acid vapor frequently causes pressure tap line blockages, leading to inaccurate measurements and potential safety hazards. Previously, the company attempted various solutions including standard pressure transmitters and radar level sensors, but all proved ineffective. Equipment replacements became routine due to corrosion issues, while production halts for cleaning operations caused by crystalline blockages severely impacted operational continuity and economic efficiency.

 

After thorough technical evaluations and comparative analysis of various solutions, the company ultimately selected a custom-made dual-flange level transmitter from Yigeqi. This solution features three key technical advantages:

 1. Exceptional corrosion resistance: The application of tantalum membrane flanges provides superior corrosion protection against hydrochloric acid, effectively addressing equipment corrosion issues at their source.

2. The unique anti-clogging structure uses flat flange installation and no pressure hole design to completely avoid the situation of hydrochloric acid crystallization and blockage.

3. The precise measurement method uses high and low pressure side flanges to detect the bottom and top pressure of the tank respectively, and accurately calculates the liquid level height by using the differential pressure principle, which is not affected by the pressure fluctuation inside the tank.

 

The project has delivered remarkable results: Liquid level measurement errors have been significantly reduced, with precision far exceeding industry standards; equipment now operates continuously and stably for extended periods, achieving maintenance-free status; leakage risks have been completely eliminated, ensuring safety for both personnel and the environment; unplanned downtime incidents have been effectively prevented, substantially reducing annual maintenance costs.
